Moved on to a different part of KO SAMUI

PICTURE: The Cliff restaurant view from the patio Lamai beach, KO SAMUI
Hello all,
We are settled at last, it took a few days but we have finally found paradise. We began in Lamai and stayed at the spa resort, it was clean and had a nice pool but the beaches were not as good we hoped. The people here are really nice and speak english quite well so we have been ok. The food has been good we have found some stuff we like. We have now moved on from Lamai and are now in Cheweng which is a lot more westernized with 7-11 on every corner. The beaches here are beautiful and as good as cuba or cancun if not better. The island is full of europeans, i think this is a very popular vacation spot for them. Today we had corn on the cobb right on the beach from one of the many vendors wandering around. Our bungalow here is quite clean and a short distance from the beach. The computers here are quite slow so we have not been able to post pictures but if we find a place where we can we will very soon. If not, then we will as soon as we get to Australia. We will probably stay on this island for another week and then move on to Phuket. We miss you all tons and will chat with you very soon.
luv Jen and Glenn

Wow! Love reading all your updates. Must be an exciting time. I googled Chaweng, Ko Samui and saw pics of the beach and McDonald's and Tropical Murphy's Irish Pub. I could just picture you walking on the beach. The beach is beautiful. Glenn's mom called last night and got your "emergency only" phone number which is good to have. Talked to Rick last night. He was watching the big soccer game today with family and he said it was 27 there yesterday. He was in Daam's back yard suntanning. He was having fun. Daam's birthday is today so they were having a big feast with the whole family tonight. Love....Marjorie

Glad to hear you are safe and sound. Good thing you only connected in Bangkok....that would have been real culture shock. Lots of great temples there though. If you are going to Phuket....make sure to eat chinese. It's the best chinese food you will EVER have. Lots of great deals on anything silk too. I think alot of that Island got damaged by the tsunami. It will be interesting to hear from you guys how much was damaged. I am sooooo jealous of you guys being there. It's almost been 10 years now for me since I was there. Make sure you make it to a few beach resorts on the west coast near Krabi....some of the most amazing scenery and beaches you will come across.
Caitlyn and Matthew say HI!!!!
